Replica Tag Heuer Heritage

In this first episode, we introduce ourselves, tell you what we do and where we come from with watches and discuss a few watch pet peeves. Also, phones by watch makers packed in gorgeous boxes so you can "pass them down to the next generation" - hmmm... John first brandishes his love for clocks, we talk about the most complex wrist watch in the world, the Gerald Genta Arena Metasonic Sonnerie Watch that costs 0,000.00. Ariel just got back from Japan, so we talk Seiko, their Astron and how the Spring Drive models work. Glide hand. Enjoy.

Price for the Marvin M104 watch in US dollars is ,200 retail. A reasonable price given all that you get. My feeling that has been supported by a few other people is that the Marvin watches would be best suited to the jewelry store and department store watch sections. They have an eye-catching look, and enough positive qualities to compete well with what is out there. Plus, the watches have a polished, mainstream look to them that you find on other watches in these more mainstream environments. Getting the watch in the US right now is a matter of importing them from overseas most of the time. Again, with enough positive response we can see Marvin watches officially in the US. So make your opinions known.

It is hard to predict what will happen in the future, but downloadable content for mobile devices is here to stay, and will only become more popular. This also means that the expectations from them will be higher, and they will have increasing amounts of functionality. Currently, most watch companies are sorely stuck in "Web 1.0." This means that their online presence is a one-dimensional tool for visitors to get some information only, and usually very limited information is available compared to what people want. If the way watch companies operate online now is an indicator of the effectiveness of their iPhone applications, I suggest they hold off making an iPhone application until they have a website that is actually useful for consumers that demand more from a luxury company. Which is also a way of me saying, "stop being so hostile to Internet sales." It makes you look antiquated, and unfriendly.

More interesting are some other watches that Alain Silberstein is apparently at work on. We are talking about hybrid or multi calendar watches. These will be timepieces that have more than one calendar on them. Such as the Gregorian calendar and Hebrew calendar. One watches that is apparently due sometime in 2010 is a triple calendar watches (not that type of triple calendar), that had the Gregorian, Hebrew, and Chinese calendar all on one watch. Probably perpetual calendars at that. Wow! That will be some complex looking (and functioning) timepiece. I can't wait.

My Bathys 100 Fathoms Quartz Watch Review on AskMen.com

You of course know that I cover the Linde Werdelin brand watches often. I have a good relationship with the people there, and quite like their innovative watches. A refreshing brand that offers a truly unique watch line that also sits firmly as a luxury brand. I tend to talk mostly about their products, but you may be curious about other details related to the brand. Selectism has a nice feature where they discuss the brand in a journalistic article that sheds new light on what goes on there, and who is behind the striking designs.

The design of the watch is a combination of tool shed tech and traditional diver watch. From a distance the appearance of the DS 2000 GMT is of a strong looking diving watch. Upon closer inspection you realize all the little features that make the Formex unique. The full titanium case and bracelet have steel accents, such as the screws and bolts that give it a more precision look; as though it experienced a deeper level of engineering. And of course, the titanium makes the watch very light, even for its relatively hefty side of 45mm wide size. Formex is really dedicated to the user. As you can see the watch packaging. You get a wealth of tools, and straps in a case that can be taken with you on adventures. The Allen bolt fastener on the lugs makes it easy to change straps quickly and without any frustration; of course a tool is included for this. Also, there is a unique multi-locking clasp on the bracelet that is very secure. Look at the rotating diver's and its grippy looking surfaces. The contrasting colors make it easy to read, and the thickness makes it easy to operate even with gloves on. Overall, it is just a very ergonomic watch, which adds to it's tool like demeanor.

A watch like this upcoming Guer Man Trace is easy to make fun of. I mean it is pretty interesting look, and I see all of the artistic merit - I am sure I would even wear one. But instead of us feeling all wowed by its novelty, we are going to be compelled to laugh about it. It does come in a log watch box after all. This little concept brings me back to the early 1990s when one of my favorite cartoons of all time was on, Ren & Stimpy. Of the most iconic elements of the adultish cartoon show was their in-show advertisements of absurd hypothetical products. Do you remember "Log." The piece of wonder wood could do it all. It's Log... it is big, it is heavy, it is wood. Log for boys and girls, it is better than bad, it is good. These are some lines from the jingle, can you hear me saying it out loud in a satirical serious manner as I am sure the Guer Man marketing people might. Hear it via YouTube below. The actual commercial is not on there due to copyright reasons I am sure. So what was the deal with log? Well it could do anything, including being a watch box - even in non...carpenterized form.

The case is a curious shape for many of you. It is called a "cushion" - for what should be obvious reasons. Think of a chair cushion, or a couch pillow. I know it is not the most glamorous term as applied to a luxury watch, but can you think of a better name? This is the first cushion style watch for me, and I actually like how it looks on my wrist. I think the shape is more flattering than a tonneau case (rectangular cushion), and I appreciate the symmetry of the even side lengths here more. The case a coined/column design on the side on the side that helps fill the space with a pleasant decoration. In true sophisticated watch fashion, this theme is continue into the double fold-over deployment clasp on the strap. You can tell how the lugs are highly curved in order to not look to big on your wrist and have a retro styling to them. The different polishes on the case (mirrored, brushed) are done in a high quality manner, and the overall fit and finish of the case is really top-notch. I really like how the crown has the beautiful looking relief of the Perrelet logo. The crown is not screw-down on the watch, which I think I would have preferred. Though maybe this is because I am a diving watch kinda guy. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters which is standard for more dressy watches of this ilk.

IWC Wins Reader Voted Best Luxury Watch Brand On Luxist Announcements

The dial color could be a dark brown (that matches gold well), black, or any other color. It looks nice being a bit bare. I find the font that Virtual Ideas used for the numerals to be interesting. A technical, almost computer generated font that you'd expect to see on a receipt print out. It makes the counting of time more mathematical, or rather the watch look more like an instrument. The hands are smaller but useful. They might stand for some improvement so as to be more clear . They look to be lume covered, so I hope the numerals on the dial are as well. Virtual Ideas designs concepts such as this show watch companies what they can do. As fresh ideas are often better than a stale design department (many of you out there can attest to that). Whenever I see their designs I wonder to myself what brands the looks best fit with.

For me, this collaboration with watch maker Alain Silberstein is very impressive. I don't know whose idea it was, Max's or Alain's but the result is said to have quite shocked Mr. Busser. What Alain did is take a watch, make some arguably minor changes, and totally alter the look of the timepiece. His inspiration was vintage box style cameras from the 1940s, and you can see the connection in the design. Only the little colors triangle, square, and circle indicate his hallmark touch. Well those and the smiling moon phase indicator (styled after art nouveau characters. This "Little Nemo") .

The Toxic watch concept features a horizontally long rectangular case with soft curved edges on the top and bottom, with sharped curves on the right and left side of the watch. The case would ideally be made in some satin finished metal. You can see the perlage polish on the inside of the dial - that would require a series of expensive to manufacture sapphire crystals. The Toxic watch displays just the minutes and hours, and nicely indicates what scale does what with a clear "H" or "M" next to the scales. While a watch like this is anything but ordinary, it actually succeeds in not being that hard to read, I dig it. Though I would also be a bit apprehensive of a needle sticking out of it!

Panerai PAM305 Luminor Submersible 1950 Dive Watch Is Surprise Hit Watch Releases Panerai's new P9000 automatic movement line was the star for the watchmaker at SIHH this year. The entry level in-house made movement is meant to be a friendly rugged machine with function and reliability in mind. This is particularly seen in the watches that the new movement line showed up in. My favorite of which is this PAM00305 (PAM305), also known at the Luminor Submersible 1950. In addition to being Panerai's first exhibition back diving watch it also has a face without a number 12. This is the first time I have seen this on a Panerai watch, though I am admittedly not a Panerai superfan like some people out there. You have to give this watch a double-take to make sure it is in fact a Panerai, because that "12" always in the same font, is just SO Panerai. Actually the look is based on some historic Panerai diving watches.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Calibre S Chronograph Watch Watch Releases

As the name of the watch goes, the timepiece will be water resistant to 500 meters. This is a step up from the original 300 meters LUM-TEC was aiming for. Inside the watch is a new movement for LUM-TEC. This time they will use a high quality Seiko Sii NH15J automatic mechanical movement. This is a similar movement to the one used in their LumZilla watch, but it offers automatic as well as handwinding. The Seiko people will of course be proud to have one of their movement in these exclusive American watches. Attached to the watches will be high quality rubber straps as well as likely metal bracelet options. Like I said, when the watches are due for released in late 2010, the price will be around 5. A step up for the brand, but for a stepped up watch. Once again LUM-TEC has successfully been able to achieve a gleeful "wow" from me. More on the LUM-TEC 500M watch as it comes closer to release next year.
